A little while ago it occurred to me that it would be a good idea to blog about our rats; to detail their little exploits, creating a record which will outlive our sadly short lived critters.
I was still at the ‘thinking’ stage, and let’s face it, this could have lasted indefinitely, when my little Sukey died prematurely; even by rat standards. My baby was only eleven weeks old, and just hours prior to her death I’d been corresponding with my on-line, rattie-loving friends, about what an adorable (and healthy) rat she was.
This could have gone one of two ways… Well, the upshot is that I now feel the need to record their ratty lives even more strongly. Sukey lived with us for five weeks, leaving behind her a few photos and a handful of memories. The pain fades, but the memories live on…

Recording their lives is a great idea! I’ve had 7 pat rats (not all at once – 2 sets of 2 and 1 set of 3) and you think you’ll remember everything – but you really don’t. Keeping a blog on them is awesome! Rats are awesome! I will be checking back often! Thanks for sharing your furries!
